Beijing- Glory Hiking tour on Mutianyu

Meet tour guide at 8am then drive to a remote village near Mutianyu (1.5 hours). Mutianyu offers a wonderfully satisfying experience of the wall. It has superb scenery, dense vegetation and many fine watchtowers in an excellent restored section which is about six meters broad. Start the hiking around 9:30, and it will take about 2 hours to complete (2.5km). Along the 12 watchtowers, we will spend 1.5 hours on the first 7 abandoned watch towers at the original and untouched section which is not easy at the every beginning. Once you reach the restored part of the wall, you will find it is easier to walk. You have the option downhill: either by walking or by toboggan (optional). A lunch at a local restaurant will be organized after the hiking before returning to your hotel. [B,L]

Great Wall –Mutianyu(less tourists). The Great Wall is a symbol of ancient Chinese civilization and a world-renowned   fortification. Stretching 6,350 kilometers on the mountains in Northern China, the Great Wall was first built in the 7th century B.C. and completed during the reign of the first Emperor of Qin.

Beijing HutongHutong is a neighborhood of narrows street or alleys, most commonly associated with Beijing. An ancient style of city planning, the grid-shaped streets in Hutongs were formed by joining the outer walls of Siheyuan (literally: courtyard surrounded by 4 buildings) homes together. These folk-style neighborhoods have a long history spanning over 1000 years,  even today, they are still inhabited and retained as an symbol of Beijing heritage.
